Before you install Service Release 3, please note the following important information.
· This service release is intended to update Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition 9.4 servers and client applications that have already had Feature Pack 1 applied. If you have not installed RightFax 9.4 Feature Pack 1, download it from the Open Text Knowledge center and install on your Fax Servers before applying Service Release 3.
· Apply this update to local Fax Servers before installing it on remote Fax Servers.
· After the service release has been installed, do not run the RightFax 9.4 Setup.exe in order to add a feature. Instead, use the Change command in the Windows Add or Remove Programs application.
· An update to this readme file may be available. Verify that you have obtained the most current readme file from the Open Text Knowledge Center, https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/open/15703289.
WARNING If you are using Lotus Notes with Midas Rich Text C++ API, you must upgrade to Midas version 4.31 before installing this update. This service release will not be able to convert forms with older versions of Midas software.
WARNING Before applying this update, if you have one or more Dialogic® Brooktrout® TR1034 fax boards installed, you must confirm that the file BtCall.cfg in the \RightFax\DocTransport\Brooktrout folder is not set to read-only. If it is, remove the read-only attribute from the file before applying the service release. Installing the service release with this file set to read-only will fail to properly update the file and will render the fax boards inoperable.
WARNING Before applying this update, all remote RightFax services must be shut down. If they are not shut down, data loss can occur. Also, database scripts could be run while a remote server is accessing the database, causing a failure to upgrade the database.
Download Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition 9.4 Feature Pack 1, Service Release 3 from https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/open/15703289.

This release adds support for notifications from the new HP multi-function printers, and provides a new silent installation that pushes the Rightfax client package to user workstations. For complete installation instructions, see the Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition 9.4 Feature Pack 1 SR3 Installation Guide.
This release also offers Office 2010 support. SSA supported files formats used by the Conversion Engine are:
· Microsoft Word, versions 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010.
· Microsoft Excel, versions 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010.
· Microsoft PowerPoint, versions 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010.
· Microsoft Visio, versions 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010.
· Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8.
To enable the RightFax server to perform Server-Side Application conversion, install the applications on the RightFax server and any computers running remote WorkServers you want to use for SSA.
The version of Microsoft Office installed on the Fax Server or WorkServers must be able to open the document versions that are submitted by client computers.
In order to convert Office 2007 and 2010 documents, you must install Office 2003 with the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats, and all available patches. These are available from Microsoft.
NOTE: Office 2003 will not be able to convert Office 2007 xml files.
NOTE: If coversheets or attachments created with Microsoft Office generate errors, you may need to add a dedicated “Desktop” folder for conversions in the “systemprofile” folder on the server. Full instructions are in Article 17319199 on the Open Text Knowledge Center at (https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/open/17319199).
